Denial of Service in Linux Kernel Affects TI K3 UDMA
CVE-2022-50541
Currently unrated
What is CVE-2022-50541?
A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel involving the TI K3 UDMA driver, where the hardware counters that monitor real-time channel byte count statistics can overflow. This occurs when transferring more than 4GB of data, causing the transfer operation to hang indefinitely. The issue affects the accurate calculation of transfer completion, leading to potential denial of service. Changes have been implemented to lower the byte count for completed transactions, ensuring that these counters do not overflow and that accurate statistics are maintained throughout ongoing transfers.
