What is CVE-2022-50791?
The SOUND4 IMPACT/FIRST/PULSE/Eco product line, version 2.x and below, is susceptible to a conditional command injection vulnerability. This flaw allows local authenticated users to manipulate the system by creating malicious files within the /tmp directory. Additionally, unauthenticated attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending a single HTTP POST request to the vulnerable ping.php script. This request triggers the execution of commands via the malicious file, which is then immediately deleted, allowing for potentially undetected intrusions and data manipulation.
