What is CVE-2022-50796?

The SOUND4 IMPACT/FIRST/PULSE/Eco firmware version 2.x and below is vulnerable to a remote code execution attack due to a flaw in its firmware upload functionality. Specifically, the upload.cgi script allows attackers to perform path traversal attacks, enabling potentially malicious files to be uploaded with www-data permissions.
