What is CVE-2022-50997?

Weaver E-cology versions 8.0 and 9.0 have a vulnerability in the HrmCareerApplyPerView.jsp endpoint that permits unauthenticated remote attackers to execute SQL injection attacks. By manipulating the unsanitized 'id' GET parameter, attackers can send crafted requests to extract arbitrary data from the Microsoft SQL Server database in the backend. This vulnerability highlights the importance of input validation and the necessity for upgrading to versions 10.53 or 10.54, which contain remediation measures. The first reported exploitation attempt was detected on October 18, 2023, by the Shadowserver Foundation.
