What is CVE-2023-1767?
The Snyk Advisor platform was vulnerable to a stored XSS attack that allowed malicious actors to embed executable HTML tags within markdown README files of scanned NPM packages. Once such a package was imported into Snyk Advisor, the injected script would execute each time a user accessed the package's health page. This flaw could potentially allow attackers to manipulate user sessions, redirect users, or harvest sensitive information, creating a significant risk to users interacting with affected package pages.
