Input Validation Flaw in Cisco IOS XE Software Web UI
CVE-2023-20231
What is CVE-2023-20231?
A vulnerability exists within the web user interface of Cisco IOS XE Software that could be exploited by an authenticated, remote attacker to perform injection attacks. The flaw arises from insufficient input validation, enabling an attacker to send specially crafted input to the web UI. If leveraged, this could facilitate the execution of arbitrary commands with level 15 privileges on the affected device. However, successful exploitation requires the attacker to first obtain the credentials for a Lobby Ambassador account, which is not enabled by default.
