What is CVE-2023-26035?

ZoneMinder, a widely used open-source CCTV software for Linux, has a vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote code execution due to inadequate authorization checks. Specifically, an attacker can exploit this flaw by manipulating the snapshot action to create a new monitor, leading to the execution of arbitrary commands via shell_exec. This vulnerability affects versions prior to 1.36.33 and 1.37.33. Users are advised to upgrade to the latest versions to mitigate this risk.
