What is CVE-2023-28467?

The vulnerability affects MyBB versions before 1.8.34, allowing an attacker to exploit the User Control Panel (User CP) through a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack via the user email field. This enables potential attackers to inject malicious scripts, which are executed in the browser of users accessing the compromised email field. It poses serious security risks, as it can lead to unauthorized access or information disclosure. Users and system administrators are advised to update their MyBB installations to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
