Weak Session ID Generation and Flawed Password Verification in LemonLDAP::NG
CVE-2023-28862
9.8CRITICAL
What is CVE-2023-28862?
A security flaw in LemonLDAP::NG prior to version 2.16.1 enables attackers to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA) by exploiting weaknesses in session ID generation within the AuthBasic handler. Incorrectly handled failure responses during password verification further facilitate unauthorized access. Any plugin attempting to restrict session creation post-authentication does not adequately block an AuthBasic session, exposing users to potential security breaches.
