Denial of Service Vulnerability in Open5GS MME by Cellular Security
CVE-2023-37002
5.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2023-37002?
Open5GS MME versions up to 2.6.4 are susceptible to a denial of service attack triggered by sending malformed ASN.1 packets. An attacker exploiting this vulnerability can generate an E-RAB Modification Indication message lacking the essential MME_UE_S1AP_ID field. This can lead to repeated crashes of the MME, causing disruptions in services and significant operational challenges for affected networks.
