What is CVE-2023-37015?

Open5GS MME, in versions up to and including 2.6.4, is susceptible to a denial of service attack due to a flaw in handling ASN.1 packets over the S1AP interface. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a malformed Path Switch Request message that omits the necessary MME_UE_S1AP_ID field. This malicious action can cause the MME to crash repeatedly, leading to significant service interruptions.
