What is CVE-2023-38310?

A vulnerability exists in Webmin version 2.021 that enables stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks through manipulation of the system log configuration settings. An attacker can store a malicious payload within the settings of certain log files. Once this payload is saved, it will automatically execute when users access the affected log files, potentially compromising user interactions and data integrity. Organizations using Webmin should promptly assess their systems to mitigate this security risk.
