What is CVE-2023-39353?
FreeRDP, a widely used free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol, has been identified with a vulnerability that causes a missing offset validation in specific fields. This flaw resides within the libfreerdp/codec/rfx.c file, particularly in tile->quantIdxY, tile->quantIdxCb, and tile->quantIdxCr, allowing for crafted input to potentially trigger an out of bounds read access. Such actions may result in application crashes, impacting the stability of systems utilizing this software. To mitigate this issue, users are strongly encouraged to update to versions 2.11.0 or 3.0.0-beta3, as no effective workarounds are available.
