What is CVE-2023-40181?
The vulnerability in FreeRDP arises from an Integer-Underflow in the zgfx_decompress_segment
function, which can lead to an Out-Of-Bound Read situation. This issue allows the possibility of reading memory beyond the normal limits of the processed data packets, potentially causing application crashes. Users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to the fixed versions (2.11.0 and above, or 3.0.0-beta3) as there are no workarounds available to mitigate this risk.
