What is CVE-2023-40186?
The FreeRDP implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol has a vulnerability in the gdi_CreateSurface function, caused by an integer overflow. This defect specifically impacts FreeRDP clients, as the decoding of images does not occur through proxies. There are no workarounds available, and users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to versions 2.11.0 or 3.0.0-beta3 to mitigate this vulnerability. Failure to address this issue compromises the security of the affected applications.
