What is CVE-2023-40256?

A vulnerability in Veritas NetBackup Snapshot Manager allows untrusted clients to interact with the RabbitMQ service due to improper validation of client certificates. This could compromise the confidentiality and integrity of messages involved in backup and restore jobs, potentially leading to service disruptions. Importantly, while this affects the management of backup processes, it does not permit unauthorized access to the backup snapshot data itself and is limited to the Snapshot Manager feature.
