What is CVE-2023-41222?

A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the D-Link DIR-3040 routers due to improper validation of a user-supplied string in the prog.cgi binary, which processes HNAP requests received by the lighttpd web server on TCP ports 80 and 443.
