What is CVE-2023-41227?

A significant vulnerability exists in the D-Link DIR-3040 router due to a flaw in the prog.cgi component, which processes HNAP requests on the lighttpd web server. This flaw stems from inadequate validation of a user-supplied string before it is copied into a stack-based buffer of fixed size.
