What is CVE-2023-41278?

A vulnerability exists in several versions of QNAP operating systems due to inadequate size checks during buffer copying processes. This flaw allows authenticated administrators to exploit the system, potentially leading to the execution of arbitrary code over the network. QNAP has addressed this issue in the updates released for QTS 5.1.2.2533 and later, QuTS hero h5.1.2.2534 and later, and QuTScloud c5.1.5.2651 and later. Users are encouraged to upgrade to these versions to mitigate the risks associated with this vulnerability.
