What is CVE-2023-41940?

The Jenkins TAP Plugin versions 2.3 and earlier are susceptible to a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This flaw arises due to inadequate escaping of TAP file contents, allowing attackers with control over TAP file inputs to inject malicious scripts. Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized actions being performed on behalf of unsuspecting users, thereby compromising the security of the application.
