CVE-2023-43630

What is CVE-2023-43630?

The vulnerability affects PCR14 by allowing attackers to modify the configuration partition without detection, leading to the possibility of gaining full control over the device. The change introduced in a specific commit altered how PCR14 interacts with secure boot processes, specifically failing to measure changes accurately. Consequently, even if PCR14 is included in the sealing process of the 'vault' key, the inherent flaw renders these security measures ineffective. Attackers can exploit this to manipulate encrypted content seamlessly, posing significant risks to device integrity and user data.
