Vault Key Partially Predetermined
CVE-2023-43637
7.8HIGH
What is CVE-2023-43637?
The vulnerability arises from the improper implementation of the 'deriveVaultKey' function, which generates a vault key that is compromised due to predetermining the last 16 bytes. Specifically, previous versions of the software (before version 7.10) merge a weak, fixed key with a randomly generated 16-byte key. Devices initialized before version 7.10 remain susceptible to this weakness even after updating, creating potential security risks for sensitive data management.
