What is CVE-2023-45042?

A vulnerability has been identified in certain versions of QNAP operating systems due to a buffer copy operation that does not adequately check the input size. This flaw allows authenticated administrators to execute arbitrary code through network access, potentially compromising the security of the affected systems. The issue has been addressed in QTS 5.1.4.2596 build 20231128 and later, as well as in QuTS hero h5.1.4.2596 build 20231128 and later versions.
