What is CVE-2023-46324?

The free5GC UDM component prior to version 1.2.0 is susceptible to an Invalid Curve Attack. This vulnerability arises when Go versions before 1.19 are utilized, allowing an attacker to exploit the system's inability to properly validate an uncompressed public key. By sending unverified Subscriber Unique Credentials Identifier (SUCIs) to the User Data Management (UDM), an attacker can potentially compute a shared secret, compromising the confidentiality of secure communications as the UDM attempts to decrypt using both its private key and the attacker's non-validated public key.
