What is CVE-2023-47345?

A buffer overflow vulnerability in free5gc version 3.3.0 can be exploited by attackers to induce a denial of service. This is achieved by sending specially crafted PFCP messages that contain a malformed PFCP Heartbeat message. The exploitation involves manipulating the Recovery Time Stamp Information Element (IE) length to zero, leading to unexpected behavior in the application.
