What is CVE-2023-48654?
A vulnerability in One Identity Password Manager prior to version 5.13.1 allows users to exploit Kiosk mode functionalities, enabling unauthorized access to the underlying Windows system. This issue arises when users utilize the product's password reset feature via a Chromium-based browser in Kiosk mode. An attacker can trigger a sequence that leads to launching the command prompt (cmd.exe) with elevated privileges, specifically as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. This poses significant risks for affected systems, potentially allowing attackers to execute arbitrary commands and compromise system integrity.
