What is CVE-2023-48691?
The Azure RTOS NetX Duo network stack, designed for embedded real-time and IoT applications, contains a vulnerability that allows attackers to perform an out-of-bounds write operation. This flaw is rooted in the processing of IGMP protocol components and affects versions up to 6.2.1. Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to remote code execution, posing significant security risks. Microsoft has released an update in version 6.3.0 to mitigate this issue, and users are strongly encouraged to upgrade as there are no viable workarounds available.
