What is CVE-2023-49715?

A significant vulnerability exists in the WWBN AVideo software due to an unrestricted PHP file upload mechanism in the import.json.php temporary copy functionality. This flaw enables attackers to execute arbitrary code through specially crafted HTTP requests, particularly when exploited in conjunction with a Local File Inclusion (LFI) vulnerability. The potential for attackers to manipulate file uploads bypasses security controls, leading to severe security implications for systems using this software. Organizations must take immediate steps to mitigate this risk and ensure robust validation mechanisms are in place.
