What is CVE-2023-50190?

The vulnerability in Trimble SketchUp Viewer arises from improper validation during the parsing of SKP files, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected systems. This exploit requires user interaction, such as visiting a malicious website or opening a compromised SKP file, which in turn can lead to code execution in the context of the current process. Failure to secure user-supplied data can result in writes beyond allocated buffers, jeopardizing system integrity. For more information, refer to the advisory from the Zero Day Initiative.
