Stack-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in D-Link G416 Wireless Router
CVE-2023-50209
8.8HIGH
What is CVE-2023-50209?
The vulnerability in D-Link G416 wireless routers allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on the device. The flaw resides in the HTTP service on TCP port 80, which fails to validate the length of user-supplied data before copying it to a stack-based buffer of fixed length. This oversight permits attackers to exploit the vulnerability and execute code with root privileges, compromising the device's integrity without the need for authentication.
