What is CVE-2023-53256?

A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's handling of logical partitions associated with ARM FF-A devices. The kernel currently fails to handle duplicate device names due to a conflict in registering multiple logical partitions within a single physical partition. Each service identifiable by a UUID is essential for correct logical partitioning, but the system struggles to generate unique device names, leading to a registration failure indicated by the error code -EEXIST. Consequently, device initialization cannot proceed as expected, affecting service availability and system integrity.
