Integer Overflow Vulnerability in Linux Kernel Affects Radeon Driver
CVE-2023-53309
What is CVE-2023-53309?
A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel pertaining to the Radeon driver, where an integer overflow occurs during memory size calculations. Specifically, when the size variable is initialized to 0x40000000, an overflow will happen after multiplying it by the size of uint32_t. This can lead to the size being reset to zero, causing potential uninitialized memory references later in the execution. This flaw may compromise system integrity and lead to unexpected behavior within applications utilizing the Radeon graphics stack.
