What is CVE-2023-53976?

The myBB Forums 1.8.26 is prone to a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability that affects its template management system. This vulnerability permits authenticated administrators to insert arbitrary JavaScript through the template title field when creating new templates. When the malicious template is accessed, it can execute the unauthorized scripts, potentially compromising the integrity of the forums and the data therein. Exploiting this flaw can result in severe consequences for both the administrators and the end users.
