Summary
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the password authentication process of the Mobile Device Function in certain Canon multifunction printers and laser printers. This vulnerability can allow an attacker on the same network segment to exploit the affected product, potentially resulting in the device becoming unresponsive or enabling the execution of arbitrary code. Specifically, the affected products include various series of Satera, Color imageCLASS, and i-SENSYS devices with firmware version 03.07 and earlier in different regions, including Japan, the US, and Europe. Canon recommends updating affected products to mitigate the associated risks.
