What is CVE-2024-21849?

A vulnerability exists within the configuration of Advanced Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Application Security Manager (ASM) security policies on F5 Networks devices. When a Websockets profile is activated alongside these policies on a virtual server, certain undisclosed traffic patterns can result in the unexpected termination of the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) process. This behavior can disrupt the normal operations of applications relying on these services. It is important to note that software versions that have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not subject to evaluation regarding this vulnerability.
