Denial of Service Vulnerability in Linux PAM by Linux Foundation
CVE-2024-22365
5.5MEDIUM
What is CVE-2024-22365?
Linux PAM versions prior to 1.6.0 contain a vulnerability that could be exploited via the mkfifo function. An attacker can potentially disrupt the login process due to the absence of the O_DIRECTORY flag in the openat system call. This oversight may lead to a denial of service condition, rendering the authentication system inoperable. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this vulnerability.
