What is CVE-2024-2279?
A vulnerability has been identified in GitLab CE/EE that permits the execution of a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attack through the autocomplete feature for issue references. This flaw affects all versions from 16.7 to 16.8.6, all versions 16.9 before 16.9.4, and all versions 16.10 before 16.10.2. Attackers could exploit this vulnerability by injecting a carefully crafted payload, allowing them to perform unauthorized actions on behalf of users who engage with the affected issue references.
