What is CVE-2024-23833?

A vulnerability in OpenRefine, particularly in versions up to 3.7.7, allows an attacker to construct a JDBC query that can read files from the host filesystem. While the newer MySQL driver library integrated into version 8.0.30 does not enable code execution through deserialization, the exposure still permits unauthorized reading of sensitive files on the server. It is imperative for users to upgrade to version 3.7.8 to mitigate this security risk. No viable workarounds are available.

Affected Version(s)
