The Sony XAV-AX5500 car audio devices are susceptible to a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability due to improper validation of user-supplied data within the Apple CarPlay protocol implementation. This flaw allows local attackers to exploit the vulnerability by sending specially crafted data, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution in the context of the affected device without requiring any authentication.
