What is CVE-2024-24765?

The CasaOS-UserService has a vulnerability related to its user management functionalities that allows improper path filtering for user avatar image file requests. This flaw permits an unauthorized actor to potentially access restricted files on the system, including the CasaOS user database. Such access could facilitate escalation of privileges, possibly granting system root access to malicious users. The issue has been addressed in version 0.4.7, which implements stricter path filtering to mitigate the risks associated with this vulnerability.
