What is CVE-2024-24766?

The CasaOS UserService poses a security risk due to a username enumeration vulnerability present in the login mechanism. Specifically, from version 0.4.4.3 and earlier, users can be identified based on the application's responses during login attempts. When an incorrect username is provided, the application indicates this with a message stating 'User does not exist'. Conversely, entering an incorrect password will yield a different response, saying 'Invalid password'. This discrepancy allows potential attackers to ascertain valid usernames and craft targeted attacks. The issue has been addressed in version 0.4.7, effectively mitigating the risk.
