What is CVE-2024-25062?
A vulnerability in libxml2 has been identified, impacting versions prior to 2.11.7 and 2.12.x prior to 2.12.5. The issue arises when the XML Reader interface is utilized with DTD validation and XInclude expansion enabled. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by processing specially crafted XML documents, which can ultimately result in a use-after-free condition in the xmlValidatePopElement function. This poses significant security risks, especially in applications relying on XML parsing and processing.
