What is CVE-2024-25111?

The Squid web proxy cache is susceptible to a Denial of Service (DoS) attack stemming from an uncontrolled recursion issue found in the HTTP Chunked decoder. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to exploit the flaw by sending specially crafted chunked encoded HTTP messages, resulting in service disruptions. The issue has been addressed in Squid version 6.8, with patches available for earlier stable releases in the Squid patch archives. There are no workarounds to mitigate this vulnerability.
