What is CVE-2024-26134?

The cbor2 library, which provides encoding and decoding for the Concise Binary Object Representation (CBOR) format, has a vulnerability that allows an attacker to crash services using it. This issue arises from the ability to send a sufficiently large CBOR object to the library, causing denial of service. Versions 5.5.1 through 5.6.1 are affected, with a fix implemented in version 5.6.2 to address this flaw and enhance the stability of the service.
