What is CVE-2024-28123?

The Wasmi WebAssembly Interpreter is a lightweight solution designed for constrained and embedded systems. A vulnerability exists whereby an out-of-bounds buffer write occurs if a host invokes a Wasm function with more parameters than the interpreter's default limit of 128. This issue affects interactions from the host to Wasm but does not impact calls made within Wasm itself. The Wasmi team has addressed this security flaw in version 0.31.1, ensuring safer execution of WebAssembly functions. Users are advised to upgrade to this version to mitigate potential risks.
