Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities in PAPI Could Lead to Remote Code Execution
CVE-2024-31467
What is CVE-2024-31467?
The identified vulnerability exposes a buffer overflow flaw within the Command Line Interface (CLI) service of Aruba's Access Point management protocol (PAPI). By sending specially crafted packets to the UDP port 8211, an attacker may exploit this vulnerability to achieve unauthenticated remote code execution. This could allow malicious actors to execute arbitrary code on the affected systems with the privileges of a privileged user, posing significant risks to the integrity and security of the underlying operating system.
