Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in Totolink AC1200 Wireless Router
CVE-2024-34196
What is CVE-2024-34196?
The Totolink AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router A3002RU_V3 is affected by a buffer overflow vulnerability within the 'boa' program. This flaw permits attackers to manipulate the 'vwlan_idx' field via the 'formMultiAP' function. By sending specially crafted HTTP requests with an overly long WLAN SSID value, attackers can trigger a stack overflow during the processing of the 'formWlEncrypt' CGI function. This exploitation could potentially enable remote command execution or cause denial of service, thereby compromising the integrity and availability of the affected device.
