What is CVE-2024-39614?

A vulnerability exists in Django 5.0 prior to version 5.0.7 and Django 4.2 prior to version 4.2.14. The method get_supported_language_variant() can be exploited by attackers to induce a denial-of-service condition. This occurs when the function processes extremely long strings that contain specific characters. When invoked with such input, it may lead to performance degradation or service unavailability, necessitating prompt action to mitigate potential risks.
