What is CVE-2024-40590?
An improper certificate validation vulnerability exists in FortiPortal versions 7.4.0, 7.2.4 and earlier, 7.0.8 and earlier, and 6.0.15 and earlier. This flaw could allow an unauthenticated attacker, positioned as a Man-in-the-Middle, to intercept and manipulate the encrypted communication channel between FortiPortal and FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, or an SMTP server. Exploitation of this vulnerability compromises the integrity and confidentiality of the communications, potentially leading to unauthorized access and data tampering.
