Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in FOG Project Cloning Software
CVE-2024-40645
What is CVE-2024-40645?
The FOG Imaging Solution, a popular tool for cloning, imaging, and inventory management, contains a vulnerability related to its file upload feature. Authenticated users can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary code on the server by manipulating the Rebranding functionality. Specifically, the system only enforces restrictions on the dimensions of the client banner image, allowing attackers to bypass file extension checks. By appending a PHP webshell to the uploaded image, attackers can gain unauthorized access and control over the fogproject server. This issue has been addressed in version 1.5.10.41.
